Our church has a pretty tight budget and would like to replace our worn out paraments, one at a time. Can we do that, or do we have to order a whole set at once?
There's no rule that says you must replace all of your paraments at one time, but there are some considerations. First, there may be some economic savings when you purchase an entire set. For example, the cost of a set of Qwick-Ship paraments is less than if you bought the set one piece at a time.
Also, you want the dye lots of the fabrics and fringes or other trims to match. There may be some variations if the pieces are not purchased at the same time. A Lectern Scarf, for example, that is hanging in a sanctuary for a year will certainly accumulate some wear and dust during that period, and will not look as fresh as a brand new Bible Marker laid over the top of it, for example.
We recommend that you at least buy the pieces that are used on top of or next to each other at the same time, to avoid dye lot variations.

Your local Murphy dealer has choir robe and accessory samples in the store for you to look at and try on, along with catalogs and swatched fabric selectors. We offer so many different fabrics, styles, and color combinations, however, that it is impossible for any dealer to have a sample made up in every single combination - it would take a huge warehouse! Therefore we offer a sample service through our dealers. You can ask for a sample in the style or styles you are considering, plus larger swatches in the exact colors and fabrics you want - just ask. If that's not enough, you can order a custom sample made up in exactly the style, fabric and color combination you like. Ask your dealer for more information.

What 's the best way to care for new our paraments?
Because our paraments are made of the finest fabrics and trimmings we can get, we recommend dry cleaning by a reputable professional dry cleaner on a regular basis. (At least once a year, if these items are regularly used.) Many of the fabrics and trims are woven in the finest mills in the USA and in Europe, and we cannot emphasize enough the importance of quality care to protect them. Do not wait until dust and dirt has permanently set into the fabrics - once this has taken place, even a top level cleaner may not be able to remove the soil without damaging the fabrics. Between periods of use, we recommend storing them flat, wrapped in acid free tissue, or folded over a fabric wrapped pants hanger, with a breathable dust cover.

What's the best way to remove candle wax?
As quickly as possible following use, scrape away as much of the wax as possible with a dull knife. Place the stain between two pieces of white blotting paper (paper towels or white tissues) and press with a warm iron. Use fresh paper as the wax is absorbed. Sponge final traces with cleaning fluid, or send to a reputable dry cleaner.
