FAQ's and HowTo's
What can I do to extend the life of my judicial robe? Why do you offer both men’s and women’s versions of this cassock?
Your catalog and web site state that a custom tailored order takes 4 to 5 weeks plus shipping. We only need a few new cassocks to match our current ones for new choir members. Can we get them sooner?
What can I do to extend the life of my judicial robe?
The point of greatest wear for most judicial robes is between the elbows and cuffs! So you could stop leaning forward at the bench, but with most judges that's not likely to happen. Seriously, we recommend hanging your robe in a closet between wearings on our contoured Robe Hanger #122, and schedule regular dry cleanings. It also helps to rotate wear between more than one robe. You would not wear the same shirt, pants, or skirt day after day, and expect them to last for 15-20 years. Robes benefit from a rest or rotation as well.

Why do you offer both men’s and women’s versions of this cassock?
Cassocks have a closer fit than robes, so we’ve tailored this style to fit men (in the ‘M’ version), and to fit women (in the ‘F’ version). You’ll find subtle differences such as bust darts, slimmer shoulder widths, and opposite front zipper openings on the women’s version, so be sure to include both style number and M or F when ordering.

We would like to speed up our production cycle - and occasionally we can, however, the length of time it takes to get a custom order depends on several factors: seasonal demand, complexity of style, and completeness of information provided. Notice we did not include order size in that list. A small order can take almost as long to get through production as a large order, because it has to go through the same production steps. A single robe may go through 60 production steps before it is shipped - and an order of 100 identical robes will go through the same 60 steps. Some manufacturers take shortcuts and are able to produce robes in less time - but those robes may not have the quality of a Murphy robe. On average, an order takes 4 to 5 weeks production time, whether it is large or small. But if you need an order in a hurry, it doesn't hurt to ask - sometimes, we can speed things up.
